in period 1 and 2, i did the evaluation on the interview. florence did the explanation on how culture is linked to identity. our plan is to finish off the powerpoint. then we would try to make a script, if we done that we would be

we missed period 3 because of the surprise assembly which was fun. and in period 4 i almost finished on writing my comparision. i think today was a fine. we learnt about how not to use a powerpoint, we also watched powerpointlessness on youtube. after i watched that we decided to edit our poewerpoint and made it better.

inquiry day, 16th of june

Today we interviewed 2 people, before today Florence interviewed 3, and i interviewed 1. Today, I worked on making the PowerPoint nice because most of the text is already in it. We added the interviews onto the PowerPoint and we added information about how different cultures have different styles of friendship that we worked on last lesson. And we also worked on 'how do they affect our lives' talking about how we could change the attitude and the personality of a person, because of who he’s friends are. we also started making the PowerPoint prettier. We added pictured backgrounds and glittery text. We are planning to finish the other slides in period 3. We might also add more videos, we already added one. The video is about what is the meaning of friendship and some friendship quotes.

inquiry journal 11th of june

Introduction:
Today we've been talking about culture, inquiry and interdependent. We also did show and tell, my show and tell was an iPod, I chose an iPod because it entertains my life and when I’m sad or moody or stressed, I could listen to my iPod. Our central idea is: we are affected by our culture and our culture is affected by us, and indentify and culture are interdependent. Our research question is: how does our friend affect/ change us, and how can we change/ affect our friends. We also discuss about what our central idea means does, I think that the central idea means whenever something happens there is always a reason and a thing that affects it to make it happen. For example: now there is global warming, if we didn’t pollute the world there won’t be global warming. this is related to culture because it’s sort of culture, for example: in some school, for example, American schools there are cheerleaders, in Hong Kong schools, cheerleading isn’t a common sport. Different sort of culture .also have different meaning of friendship. Different century have different types of meaning

Ideas about our project:

We are going to interview different age’s people, and see how they think about friendship; we will also ask different genders, because male and female have different ideas about what friendship is and what it means.

Here are some example questions:

What do you think friendship means?

Would you rather be in a clique/group (4-6 or more) or more single (1, 2, 3)?
There were some problems, because we had to think of things that are to do with friendship and culture at the same time. At last we thought of the idea of what friendship means in different countries. For example Japanese: Japanese thinks that trust is the most important aspect of friend.

this is the finished questionare questions:

· What does friendship mean to you?
· Do you think friendship is important?
· Would you rather be in a group of friends or one or two of your best friends?
· Would you be friends with people of different cultures?
· Do you become friends with people in different groups(eg. Loners, outcasts, wannabes)?
· What do you think is the most important thing about a friend (eg. Loyalty, Trustiness)?
· When would you consider some one as a friend (eg. Until you know that person very well)?

  • Who do you think is more important: friends or family or dates
